Come see me later this month. I’m presenting at the Salt Lake City Family History Expo 2009, to be held August 28-29 in… wait for it… Sandy, Utah! It’s at the South Towne Exposition Center. I’ve attended important exhibitions there, like the Festival of Trees and the Utah Chocolate Show, but I’ve never attended a conference there, so I don’t know what the classroom space is like.
On Saturday I, the Ancestry Insider, present bright and early at 8:00 AM (yikes!), “Visiting the National Archives.” Then immediately afterwards (9:30 AM) I teach “Blog Your Way to Genealogical Success.” Both classes are in room 200-C.
Attendance at the keynote by FamilySearch’s Don R. Anderson is free! Plus the exhibitor hall is free and vendors often offer “show discounts” at their booths. If you’re planning on moving from PAF to a modern replacement, stop by the exhibit hall and compare your choices. The exhibit is in Hall 5, the North-most hall. The keynote is in Hall 4, immediately adjacent to it.
Can’t attend? Family History Expos has engaged “Bloggers of Honor” to tweet the conference live (follow #FHX09-SLC) and blog about it afterwards. Yours truly has been honored to be one of the group of 11. Perhaps conference organizer, Holly T. Hansen, noticed my series of session reports from the recent BYU conference. From the venue calendar, it looks like we’ll be sharing the facility with the 33rd Annual Home Remodeling & Decorating Show, so if you’ve been wanting to remodel your home to facilitate your genealogy research, this is the chance of a lifetime! See you there!
